1.    The Royal Government of Bhutan has received a grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Rural Electrification ("RE4") component of Green Power Development Project (GPDP) and it is intended that part of this grant will be applied to eligible payments under the component named above.

2.     The Bhutan Power Corporation Ltd. (BPC, "the Purchaser") invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following:

3.    International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB's Single-Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

5.     To purchase the Bidding Document in English, eligible bidders should:

The bidding documents will be sent by domestic post or by courier outside Bhutan at additional cost, or obtained by hand.

No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery of the bidding documents.

6.    Bidders must deliver their bids:

7.    Bids will be opened at 15:30 hours BST on 7 July 2009 in the presence of bidders' representatives who chose to attend in the BPC Conference hall, Thimphu.

8.    The BPC will not be responsible for costs or expenses incurred by bidders in connection with the delivery or preparation of bids.

9.    Domestic Preference Scheme will not be applied.
