Description To improve agricultural support services to smallholders in the two post populous provinces of PNG namely Eastern Highlands Province and Morobe Province. This includes the establishment of a support services contract facility in each of the two provinces to increase performance-based contract services to smallholders, and capacity building for agricultural staff and service providers.
Objectives and Scope
Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The Project was listed in ADB's Country Assistance Plan (1999-2001). The Project supports the Government's development program, which is in line with the Bank's operational strategy for PNG.

Business Opportunities

Consulting Services Three long-term domestic (Deputy Project Coordinator, and SSCF Deputy Managers) and two long-term international (Adviser) consultants, each providing 63 person-months of services. In addition, one short-term international consultant for carrying out planning workshops will be recruited.
Procurement Civil works contracts will be awarded on the basis of local competitive bidding. Supply and service contracts will be awarded on the basis of direct purchase procedure.
