Summary

The TA will prepare a project that will strengthen basic urban infrastructure and services in selected cities of Madhya Pradesh aimed at integrating the urban poor with the overall urban development process, and ensuring that infrastructure investments are sustainable. It will be organized into two phases. Phase I will collect, review, and address basic planning data and processes, capacities and resources for urban development; select project cities; ascertain the condition of basic infrastructure and amenities and review relevant development initiatives; identify, select, and prioritize subsector specific investment components; and review current institutional arrangements. Phase II will formulate a five-year, prioritized infrastructure development project in selected cities.

Business Opportunities

Consulting Services About 74 person-months (19 international and 55 domestic) of consulting services from an international consulting firm in association with a local consulting firm will be required. The international consultants will have expertise in the fields of urban planning and municipal engineering, social development, gender, participatory development and institutional reform, financial and economic analysis, and environment while the domestic consultants will include specialists in community development, urban planning, relevant fields of municipal engineering, economic and financial analysis, social and environmental dimensions, and law.
