Project Data Sheet (PDS): Overview

Chengdu Generale des Eaux-Marubeni Waterworks Company Limited (CGEM) is the PRC's first Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) arrangement under competitive bidding in the water supply industry. The Project involved the design, construction, and operation of Factory B of Chengdu No. 6 Waterworks. The investment consisted of (i) two water intake facilities with a daily combined capacity of 800,000 cubic meters, including interconnected conduit and hidden diversion canals; (ii) a water purifying factory with a capacity of 400,000 cubic meters; (iii) a discharge pipeline of 1,030 meters; and (iv) a 27-kilometer transmission pipeline from the treatment plat to Chengdu's distribution network. An offtake agreement obligates Chengdu Municipal Waterworks General Company (CWGC) to take or pay for 400,000 cubic meters of treated water daily from CGEM. The Chengdu Municipal Government (CMG) guarantees the performance of CWGC's obligations under the offtake agreement. Read More
