Progress Toward Outcome Work-in-progress. Improvement of transport infrastructure is progressing satisfactorily through civil works and consultancy contracts. Post implementation survey would be undertaken.

Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues) (i) Consulting services: Construction Supervision Consultants for Package 1 (Bhopal) $5.8 m; and Package 2 (Jabalpur) ($4.6 m) awarded in Sep 2007. 19 contract packages have been awarded (11 packages in Bhopal and 8 packages in Jabalpur) during Sep 2007 to Feb 2010.

Business Opportunities

Consulting Services Two international consulting firms had been engaged for construction supervision of civil works under the Project. This is in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants.
Procurement The civil works contracts had been procured under international competitive bidding. This is in accordance with ADB's Procurement Guidelines and the Government's tender procedures acceptable to ADB.
