Summary

This TA is being processed in conjunction with the Coalmine Methane Demonstration Project.

It is envisaged that the Project will provide social benefits for the poor in terms of creating job opportunities during construction as well as during the operation of the Project. To further sharpen the poverty impact, poverty reduction projects for local communities, financed from the income generated from the CMM-fired power plants will be undertaken.

The Study will require about 9 person-months of international and 22 person-months of domestic consulting services.

The team of international consultants will consist of (i) a small-scale (artisanal) coal mining and environmental specalist, (ii) an economist, (iii) a social impact analyst, (iv) a training specialist, and (v) an institutional specialist.

To ensure effective assistance to the international consultants, the team of domestic consultants will have the same specialist composition.
