Description The Project will focus on developing teachers for general and professional education at upper secondary level, addressing the quality and efficiency of teacher development by strengthening selected existing facilities; access to preservice teacher training for people from disadvantaged areas; and policy and institutional framework for teacher development. It will include the following four components: (i) conducting situational analysis, (ii) preparing a project proposal, (iii) assisting the government in the prefeasibility and feasibility study, and (iv) assisting MOET in establishing a Project Management Unit and carrying out preparatory actions for implementing the project.

Business Opportunities

Consulting Services About 20 person-months international and 40 person-months domestic consulting services will be required from a firm using quality and cost-based selection and a simplified technical proposal procedure. The international consulting services will consist of experts in the fields of (i) teacher training planning and administration, (ii) teacher training curriculum for secondary education, (iii) teacher training curriculum for secondary professional education, (iv) economics (v) financial analysis and project costing, and (vi) procurement. The domestic consulting services will consist of experts for (i) project management and costing, (ii) teacher training curriculum for secondary education, (iii) teacher training curriculum for secondary professional education, (iv) social dimensions, (v) procurement and civil works, and (vi) information and communication technology for teacher training.
