Summary

This RETA is funded by the PRC Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund. Its goal is to upscale and complement with RETA 6158 for CAREC capacity building, and to keep the momentum of the regional cooperation and contribute to full achievement of the objectives of the ongoing RETA 6158. The focus of this project is to strengthen management capabilities of senior officials in each of the seven participating countries regarding regional cooperation.

Resource speakers for this TA will be engaged among leading scholars in the DMC concerned in following areas: (i) policy planning and strategic management for regional cooperation; (ii) methodologies and process of programming for regional cooperation; or (iii) major initiatives for regional cooperation in Central Asia, South Asia, Great Mekong Subregion and/or ASEAN.

Domestic consultants will be engaged for (i) designing performance metrics and indicators to measure actual results of the program; (ii) ensuring proper dissemination of the outputs of this TA to targeted officials in the governments of the CAREC countries; (iii) preparing a proposal to institute a process to coordinated regional initiatives at the country level; and (iv) assisting in the development of research networks.

The number of resource speakers/domestic consultants and their consultant days will be determined at a later stage.
