The purpose of the PPTA is to provide the resources required to prepare the ensuing Project and identify adequate mitigation of the social, resettlement and other safeguard issues arising from the project.

Description The purpose of the PPTA is to provide the resources required to prepare the ensuing Project and identify adequate mitigation of the social, resettlement and other safeguard issues arising from the project.
Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy The project is an economic development strategy that supports the Transport Sector Roadmap in ADB's country strategy for Viet Nam. It supports the development of provincial and district networks by the development of the SSH that would provide a shortcut for traffic between Ho Chi Minh city, the central Mekong Delta region and the Southern Coastal Corridor.
Impact The impact of the ensuring Project would be to support continued economic growth in the Mekong River Delta by providing adequate road capacity to sustain the rapidly growing economy in the region.

Consulting Services An international consulting firm in association with national consultants will be selected and engaged in accordance with ADB's Guidelines on the Use of Consultants. A total of about 20 person-months of international and 30 person-months of national consultants will be required.
