Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy
Impact The availability of better-quality and internationally-comparable FSIs will help to improve the surveillance of the financial system in participating DMCs. It is expected that the FSIs which will be compiled in participating DMCs will be used in financial surveillance and policy-making.
Project Outcome
Description of Outcome The TA will help participating DMCs strengthen their institutional and statistical capacity to collect, compile and disseminate internationally-comparable FSIs regularly. It is expected that at least 2 participating DMCs will compile and disseminate FSIs in their publications and/or websites regularly after the completion of the TA.

a. Inventory of current practices to collect, compile and disseminate FSIs (by July 2010).

b. Better-trained staff (by December 2010).

c. Framework for development of FSIs, FSIs with underlying data series and metadata, and compendia of FSIs (by February 2012).

d. Working paper (by June 2012).

e. Handbook of methods to collect and compile FSIs and compendia for dissemination (by December 2012).
