Description

The Project consists of increasing the capacity of the Panipat to Jalandhar Section of National Highway 1 (NH1) to six lanes (3 lanes in each direction) using the BOT real toll model, starting from km 96.0 and ending at km 387.1 (total length - 291 km) in the states of Haryana and Punjab, India. This section of the road is part of the historical Grand Trunk road which ran from Sonargaon in Bangladesh to Peshawar in Pakistan. The road was upgraded to four lanes in the past decade but is being expanded to six lanes due to rapid growth in traffic and increasing congestion. Read More
