Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy Improving the document tracking system of Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) and the government agencies to track and monitor activities under externally funded projects including ADB project and mission cycles requirements is critical to the timely delivery of operations to promote Government objectives.
Impact Enhance timely delivery of ADB operations by strengthening document tracking system at DEA which will improve efficiency of DEA's decision- making process with regard to externally funded projects.

Progress Toward Outcome

A website was launched in December 2011 with 4 modules

(i) Project and Mission Cycle Tracking System for excahnge of documents electronically

(ii) Performance Monitoring System as a short term performance indicator for projects

(iii) Training Nominations Management System for receipt of online nominations for training programs

(iv) Contractor Consultant database

The website has registered 58264 hits as of 25 March 2014 and 109 agencies have visited the website. The website is operational.

The funds allotted for Advisory consultants has been reallocated for developing phase 2 of the website. Phase 2 activities included:

Consulting Services

(i) Engage a national consulting firm to develop and install a tracking and monitoring mechanism in Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India and other specified agencies to meet project preparatory and implementation requirements under externally funded projects including ADB's project and mission cycle requirements.

(ii) Engage a national consulting firm or an individual consultant to provide financial advisory services to Department of Economic Affairs (DEA).
