The objective of the Eighteenth Tax Conference on International Model Tax Treaties for Thirteen DMCs in the Pacific Region is to: (i) provide tax policymakers in the Pacific Island DMCs with knowledge, technical details, and policy implications of international model tax treaties for effective treaty negotiations that will avoid double taxation and (ii) provide a forum that will encourage mutual understanding and cooperation among participants on tax treaties and other emerging issues on taxation.
