Summary

The Second Secondary Education Sector Development Project (SESDP II) builds on the good practices and lessons learned from the on-going Secondary Education Sector Development Program and Teaching Quality Improvement Project in Secondary Education Project. The project will assist the Government of Bangladesh in improving the quality, equity and efficiency of secondary education, following the modality of multi-tranche financing facility (MFF).

Project Rationale and Linkage to Country/Regional Strategy SESDP II will support implementing and mainstreaming the reforms proposed in the Sixth Five Year Plan and the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2010 with phased approach. The project will be implemented in a Sector Wide Approach (SWAp) to ensure that the sector moves from project based reforms to a more holistic government led reform process.
