The project will expand the original Bihar State Highways II Project Original Project output by rehabilitating and upgrading about 254 km of state highways in Bihar identified under the Bihar State Highways Development Program (BSHDP). These severely deteriorated highway sections are located in the very poor north and south parts of the state. The project will involve upgrading existing roads to two lanes, strengthening existing pavement, strengthening culverts and bridges, and constructing new bridges and cross-draining structures. Consulting services will be provided to supervise the implementation of civil works.
