During Project Design

Potential initial stakeholders include the government, civil society, nongovernment organizations, the private sector, residents in the program areas, and other development partners.

Consultations were conducted to supplement the earlier consultations conducted as part of the EIA and LARP preparation/implementation to identify any pending concerns and update/inform the local communities on the project activities, including mitigation measures, grievance redress mechanism and other project-related concerns. Coordination with NGOs monitoring construction activities in the corridor was continued and improved. A qualitative social and gender analysis (focus group discussion and key informant interviews etc with women and men in the program areas) is planned to be conducted under Project 1.

During Project Implementation Public consultation was conducted during project preparation (LARP, EIA) in a previous project, and will continue as a means to achieve maximum beneficiary buy-in during implementation.
