The TA will employ a combination of surveys, diagnostics, and strategic and results framework development techniques to help the Government and the ADB update key development issues and needs, identify strategic options to help the Government identify areas for future support from ADB in line with the preparation of the CPS 2014-2018 and the next national planning cycle (i.e. the successor to the Rectangular Strategy Phase II), with greater emphasis on knowledge value addition from the partnership

During Project Design Officials from Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Planning, and the Supreme National Economic Council were consulted and agreed for a small scale technical assistance to support economic, thematic and sector work (ETSW) needed to inform the dialogue between the Government and ADB and to facilitate the development of the strategic and program alignment between the Government's forthcoming National Strategic Development Plan 2014 2018 (NSDP 2014-2018) and future ADB support; and to support the development of a knowledge platform.
