Progress Toward Outcome The Government of Thailand continues its policy to support the railway subsector. Its budget allocations to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has continued as programed.

Draft SRT Passenger Station Management and Operations Manual prepared

Roadmap, implementation plan and strategy framework for the upgrading of SRT passenger service prepared

Status of Implementation Progress (Outputs, Activities, and Issues) The main activities have been completed. The consulting team had several meetings with key stakeholders in SRT and other relevant government agencies. Stations survey with regard to three main station operations and station management were completed in November 2013. Study tour visiting to Kuala Lumpur Sentral in Malaysia were conducted during 11-13 November 2013, accompanied by key SRT staff and representative from TRM. The results of survey and study tour summary have been incorporated in the draft Final Report. The consulting team is currently finalizing the Final Report, including the implementation plan and strategy framework for the upgrading SRT's passenger services.

During Project Design Consultation meetings with key relevant government agencies and SRT staff were held to design the scope of the TA.
During Project Implementation Key government agencies including SRT high level management and staff participated in the kick-off meeting. During implementation of the TA, the consultants have exclusive meetings with key stakeholders from Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Finance to collect data and information. Interim and Draft Final Report workshop were organized in October and December 2013, attended by key stakeholders. Key points have been summarized and discussed in these workshops.
