CMERF Studies

ADB Funded Studies

ADB is funding the following studies, which were chosen by the delegates to the 2005 Annual Meeting of CMERF. The studies are expected to be completed by August 2006.

  • Designing and Approving Efficient and Adequate Tariff Structures Appropriate to Different Consumer Categories, and Involving Lifelines, Reliability Premiums, Discounts for Prepayment, and/or Wattage Limitations
    Participating Country: Tajikistan
  • Possibilities and Pitfalls in Privatizing Distribution Company Management
    Participating Countries: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Mongolia, with assistance from Kazakhstan
  • Costs and Input Requirements of Power Utilities Across Member Countries

PPIAF Funded Studies

Support from the Public Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility is being sought for two further studies:

  • Appropriate Pricing and Provision of Anciliary Services
    Participating Country: People's Republic of China
  • Risk Sharing Under Power Purchase Agreements
    Participating Countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic
