Electricity Sector Regulation

Responsibilities are shared by many agencies, among which are the Council of Ministers (overall monitoring), Ministry of Finance (oversight and approval of tariff rates), and UzGosEnergoNadzor (rule compliance and supervision of power delivery).

Tariffs

Electricity prices are regulated and bundled. Variations in tariffs across consumer classes has been reduced significantly.

Industry Structure

The various generation and distribution companies, as well as the transmission company and a single buying-selling agency, are under the control of their parent company Uzbekenergo - a state owned joint stock company.
