Project Overview

Objectives

The technical assistance aims to improve current understanding of how transport and energy infrastructure and services contribute to poverty reduction.

Specifically, the technical assistance will

  • determine how different kinds of transport and energy investments have contributed to poverty reduction
  • establish benchmarks
  • identify success stories and lessons learned

Scope

The technical assistance will be implemented in three stages

Stage 1

Assess current knowledge of how transport and energy investments impact on poverty reduction, and identify the gaps in that knowledge, and design case studies to help fill these gaps.

Stage 2

Conduct case studies in three developing member countries.

Stage 3

Prepare and disseminate the overall and country-specific findings of the study.
