Describes poverty issues, social development issues, social safeguard issues and other social risks, as well as PPTA/due diligence resource requirement for the proposed equity investment in Asia Water Fund L.P. The Fund is aligned with ADB's Strategy 2020, which supports investment in essential public services, such as water and sanitation, as these investments support improvements in health, agriculture and rural development and provide the opportunity for all to improve their standards of living, thereby contributing to economic growth, poverty reduction and mitigation of extreme inequalities.
