Description
Under the Greater Mekong Sub-region Flood and Drought Risk Management and Mitigation Project, the subproject "Upgrading the salinity intrusion control system in Go Cong area" aims to (i) upgrade the salinity control works; (ii) decrease losses of freshwater to the sea during the dry season; (iii) increase the water level of canals inside the project area to reduce irrigation energy requirements for pumping water during dry season; (iv) gradually increase irrigation for the agricultural areas of the Go Cong zone; and (v) improve the water environment in the project area, especially in the Go Cong town.
