Description
This report and recommendation of the president for the proposed Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project in India describes the terms and conditions for the approval of ADB's Board of Directors.
The Project is expected to increase the growth potential of and reduce poverty in the five project cities. The expected outcome of the Project is a better environment, a stronger economy, and improved living conditions for the 2.6 million people living in the Project cities and ULBs under the Project. To this end, the Project will
- improve and expand urban infrastructure and services
- enhance livelihoods
- strengthen urban management, planning, and the financing capacity of institutions, especially the municipal corporations, for sustainable provision of urban infrastructure and services.
