Description
This document provides the report and recommendation of the President (RRP) on (i) a proposed loan and (ii) proposed administration of a loan to be provided by the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), both to the Kingdom of Cambodia for the Medium-Voltage Sub-transmission Expansion Sector Project. The RRP describes terms and conditions proposed for the project for the approval of the Board of Directors of ADB.
The proposed project will expand the supply of reliable and cost-effective grid electricity in Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap, Kandal, and Banteay Meanchey provinces in Cambodia. It will (i) expand the electricity transmission infrastructure by constructing 2,110 km of 22-kilovolt (kV) sub-transmission lines, (ii) support Electricité du Cambodge (EDC) in implementing the subprojects, and (iii) improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of EDC.
