| Date: | September 2011 |
| Country: | |
| Subject: | |
| Document Type: | Reports and Recommendations of the President |
| Project Number: | 43464-013 |
Description
Report and recommendation of the President to the Board of Directors describing terms and conditions proposed for the Himachal Pradesh Clean Energy Transmission Investment Program in India, for the approval of ADB's Board of Directors.
The investment program will fund electric transmission system upgrades and expansion in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. Outputs will be new transmission substations and high voltage transmission lines. A capacity development component will benefit the state's recently formed, stand-alone transmission utility, H.P. Power Transmission Corporation Limited (HPPTCL), and thus assist the state to achieve its power sector reform objectives, which include the formation of an independent transmission utility.
