| Date: | August 2009 |
| Country: | |
| Subject: | |
| Document Type: | Environmental Assessment and Measures / Initial Environmental Examination |
| Project Number: | 42079-013 |
Description
Describes the environmental condition of New Model University Project (formerly Higher Education Sector Development Project) in Viet Nam, including potential impact, formulation of mitigation measures, and preparation of institutional requirements and environmental monitoring for the project. The IEE report indicates that the adverse environmental impacts of the project will be not significant. Mitigation measures can be undertaken without difficulty through proper engineering design, incorporation of recommended mitigation measures, and community participation. The adverse impacts will be greatly offset by improvements in health, sanitation, and environmental conditions for the urban residents of project's provinces.
