Description
On 3 October 2002, the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved $15 million in grant assistance from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR) for the Road Employment Project for Settlement and Integration of Returning Refugees and Displaced Persons. The Project comprised a number of components, including (i) road improvement in the amount of $11.7 million ($11.3 million for civil works and $0.4 million for consulting services) for the Kandahar-Spin Boldak Road in southeast Afghanistan, (ii) training and community mobilization, (iii) education, (iv) health, (v) microcredit, and (vi) project management and monitoring.
