Special Evaluation Study on Port Projects
| Date: | December 1996 |
| Country: | |
| Document Type: | Technical Assistance Reports |
Description
The proposed TA will describe changes in port organization and investment, finance, ship technology (for example 5th generation container ships), and port service demand structure likely to substantially affect Bank investment impact; estimate economic requirements for additional investment and support in each country's sector and define the extent of the Bank's role in concert with both key public and private sector actors; in this context review the design and implementation arrangements of Bank-assisted port projects; assess appropriate strategies to address such issues; and evaluate the socioeconomic, institutional and environmental impact of Bank-assisted port projects, and look at the distribution of benefits between, for example, transport operations, port authorities, and transport users.
