| Date: | February 2013 |
| Country: | |
| Subject: | |
| Document Type: | Reports and Recommendations of the President |
| Project Number: | 46371-001 |
Description
This report and recommendation of the president for the proposed policy-based loan and grant to the Kingdom of Bhutan for the Strengthening Economic Management Program describes the terms and conditions for the approval of ADB's Management or Board of Directors.
The program will pursue policy reforms through budget support for the Government of Bhutan, which currently faces weakening growth prospects and challenges in macroeconomic management. The program will strengthen macro-financial management in the country to ensure adequate and sound development financing that is balanced and without distortions. This is necessary to sustain robust growth in the medium-term and facilitate Bhutan’s transition to a middle-income country.
