Description
In response to the challenge of increasing poverty the Government of Pakistan prepared a poverty reduction strategy (PRSP) in 2003 supported by provincial poverty reduction strategies. The principal pillars articulated in the strategy, accelerating growth and maintaining macroeconomic stability, investing in human capital, targeted poverty interventions, strengthening of social safety nets programs to reduce vulnerability, and improved governance were congruent to ADB's Country Strategy and Program (CSP) for Pakistan in 2002-06
