| Subject: | |
| Document Type: | Environmental Assessment and Measures / Initial Environmental Examination |

Description
Assessment of environmental condition and potential impact, including mitigation measures, institutional requirements and environmental monitoring for the Ramazon Hydropower Subproject of the Town Electrification Project in Papua New Guinea (as of Board approval). The subproject will develop a small 2.8 MW hydropower run-of-river project on the Ramazon River which is located on the north coast of Bougainville about 40 km from Buka. Electricity will be reticulated by a 33 kV transmission line northwards to Buka. The sub-project will assist the Autonomous Region of Bougainville Province in providing a reliable power supply which will also be available for rural electrification.
