This resettlement framework for the Georgia Urban Services Improvement Investment Program aims to provide guidance in the preparation and implementation of land acquisition and resettlement tasks for the projects under each tranche and to establish the necessary covenants to ensure this complies with the ADB's Safeguards Policy Statement (2009) and procedures for MFFs and relevant Georgian legislation. It sets out the procedures for the preparation of land acquisition and resettlement tasks for projects under the Investment Program and sets the objectives, principles, compensation eligibility and entitlement criteria, legal and institutional frameworks, participation and consultation procedures and grievance redress mechanisms to be employed to compensate, resettle and rehabilitate the living standards of affected families and affected persons/people. It also sets out the steps for preparing resettlement plans in case they are needed. It is provided as supporting document to the Report and Recommendation of the President to the Board of Directors.
