Earthquake and Tsunami Emergency Support Project (ETESP) - Indonesia
Updated: 25 November 2009

Implementation of ETESP commenced in June 2005, six months after the tragic tsunami of December 2004. After four and a half year of implementation, ETESP is complete except for some minor activities that will continue up to the end March/April 2010. Project impacts are visible benefiting not only earthquake and tsunami victims but also victims of the decades-long conflict in the case of Aceh.

The book series captures and preserves the experience of the reconstruction and also presents guidelines for future post-disaster reconstruction programs across the world.

Visit http://www.panglima.net*, a fishermen's website developed under ETESP's program of community-based sonar mapping of the sea bed of the coastal waters of north and northwest Aceh. It host information related to, among other things, local fishermen associations, boats, species, catch data, and current fish prices.
