Final Regional Consultation Workshop on the GMS Energy Strategy

The Final Regional Consultation Workshop for Developing the GMS Energy Strategy will be on 5-6 June 2008 at Bangkok, Thailand.

A draft GMS Energy Strategy will be presented to GMS government representatives and other stakeholders during the workshop. Feedback will be solicited on the proposed strategy and an action plan for the next steps will be discussed. A copy of the draft GMS Energy Strategy and the technical assistance reports used in the preparation of the proposed strategy can be downloaded here.

  • Second Regional Consultation Workshop on the GMS Energy Strategy

    The Second Regional Consultation Workshop to Develop the GMS Energy Strategy was held on 28-29 May 2007 at Bangkok, Thailand. Forty-two (42) representatives from the GMS governments, civil society organizations, private sector, academe, multilateral and other international development organizations participated in the discussion regarding the current progress of the Energy Strategy Study.     First Planning and Consultation Workshop on the GMS Energy Strategy

    ADB held the first planning and consultation workshop for the study on 31 July 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand. The workshop was designed to solicit views and suggestions regarding the issues the study should focus on and the proposed methodology. The theme of the workshop was balancing energy and environment for sustainable development in the GMS. About 70 individuals including senior government officials and policy makers from the GMS member economies, representatives from academia, civil society, development partners, and the private sector attended.
