ADB Depository and Regional Libraries Program

ADB established its Depository Library Program in 1994 as a means of disseminating its key knowledge and information products to the public in its member countries. ADB currently maintains a network of about 155 depository libraries in 43 member countries.

Knowledge creation and knowledge sharing are integral to ADB's work in the Asia and Pacific region. Every year ADB publishes a wide range of studies, statistical reports, working papers, books, briefs and awareness-raising materials. ADB partners with well-established libraries across the region who have agreed to house ADB's collection and to promote its use among a diverse group of users.

Participating libraries are divided into three categories as follows:

  • Depository libraries in donor countries receive ADB's flagship publications each year including the Annual Report, Asian Development Outlook, Asian Development Outlook Update, Key Indicators, Asian Development Review, Development Asia, in addition to key thematic books published in a given year (about 10-12 titles per year).
  • Depository libraries in capital cities of developing member countries receive all official ADB publications (about 300 titles per year); and
  • Regional Depository Libraries receive all ADB flagship and thematic publications plus all publications relating to their country and sub-region (about 200 titles per year).
