In Focus: Climate Change and ADB

| Date: | April 2011 |
| Type: | Brochures and Flyers |
| Series: | In Focus |
Description
ADB is helping developing countries shift to low-carbon growth and protect those most vulnerable against the expected impacts of climate change
Challenge
If temperatures continue to rise, climate change will have devastating impacts on people's lives, the environment, and economic infrastructure. The poor are the most vulnerable. How do we deal with the causes and consequences of climate change in developing Asia and the Pacific while ensuring continued poverty reduction and economic growth?
Strategy
ADB's long-term strategic framework for 2008–2020 (Strategy 2020) makes tackling climate change part of our core operations.
Response
ADB is supporting a comprehensive program of assistance to developing member countries for climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, and mainstreaming of climate change considerations into ADB operations.
