Since joining ADB in 1994, Kazakhstan has received over $3.2 billion in sovereign and nonsovereign loans in the agriculture, education, finance, transport, water supply and sanitation, and irrigation sectors. In 2012, Kazakhstan strengthened its relationship with ADB by becoming a donor with a $5.49 million contribution to ADB’s Asian Development Fund.
