Asian Development Bank and Lao PDR: Fact Sheet

| Date: | April 2013 |
| Type: | Brochures and Flyers |
| Series: | Country Fact Sheets |
Description
Updated yearly, this ADB Country Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Lao PDR as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.
ADB has partnered with the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) since it joined ADB as a founding member in 1966. ADB’s Lao PDR Resident Mission, which was established in 2001, actively coordinates with key development partners for cofinancing and collaboration, and plays significant roles in the national roundtable meeting process, where it co-chairs the macro- and infrastructure sector working groups. The resident mission also actively engages nongovernment organizations (NGOs) on natural resources management and safeguard issues related to hydropower development. ADB also cooperates extensively with civil society organizations to strengthen the effectiveness, quality, and sustainability of the services it provides.
