For Life, With Love (Lao Translation)

| Date: | October 2009 |
| Type: | Reports |
| ISBN: | 978-971-561-561-863-2 (print) |
Description
This report is the Lao translation of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) collaboration on the migrant-friendly tool called For Life, With Love—a video and life skills package on HIV prevention and safe mobility for migrant and mobile populations in the Greater Mekong Subregion—to fit the road construction setting.
This customized training tool was developed and pilot-tested at an ADB-financed road project in Bolikhamxay, Lao People’s Democratic Republic. A baseline assessment was conducted to determine patterns of mobility, work conditions and lifestyles among road construction workers, managers and supervisors, truck drivers, sex workers, health-care workers, affected local communities, and other vulnerable populations in the road project area. Based on the results, a training manual was developed in tandem with the For Life, With Love animated drama series. The training manual and animated video series make up the customized training tool.
This tool is intended for delivering HIV prevention and safe migration activities to workers in various phases of road construction, and to affected local communities and surrounding entertainment venues. This version is the Lao translation of the report.
