Mitigating the Social Impacts of the Financial Crisis in Thailand

This brief explores the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) Social Sector Program (SSP) Loan in Thailand. The loan was the first aid-assisted initiative focusing on social sectors in response to the economic crisis in Thailand. The SSP had three main purposes: mitigating the effects of the crisis, enhancing Thailand's competitiveness, and rationalizing efficiencies in the delivery of social services.
