Updated yearly, this ADB Country Fact Sheet provides social and economic indicators on Myanmar as well as concise information on ADB's operations in the country and contact information.
Myanmar joined ADB in 1973. ADB’s last loan projects for Myanmar were approved in 1986. Since the general elections in 2010, Myanmar has undertaken significant political and economic reforms. As a result, the international community has resumed reengagement with the country.
In 2012, ADB developed a road map toward resumption of normal operations. The activities included initial assessments of the economy and of key sectors, provision of technical assistance projects, and development of an interim country partnership strategy for 2012-2014.
