Effective monitoring and evaluation is important for evidence-based planning and decision making. It promotes transparency, accountability, and learning. This publication presents a brief overview of the Nepal monitoring and evaluation system, and highlights the strengths and challenges in integrating Scaling Up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries results framework and investment plan with the national monitoring and evaluation system. Discussions are based on the results of the Scaling Up Renewable Energy Program in Low Income Countries monitoring and evaluation workshop held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on 12 October 2012.
