Objectives and Outputs

The goal of the Regional Cooperation and Poverty Reduction Fund (PRC Fund) is to accelerate poverty reduction and economic and social development in ADB's developing member countries (DMCs) with tangible results. The PRC Fund hopes to achieve its goal by strengthening the capacity of DMCs to reduce poverty through, among others, regional cooperation.

The key outputs of the Fund are:

  • stronger ownership by DMCs of poverty reduction and development processes
  • greater sharing of knowledge and experience on regional cooperation, poverty reduction and development across DMCs
  • establishment of good practices in poverty reduction and development through regional cooperation and country-specific activities
  • greater regional cooperation aimed at poverty reduction and development
  • innovative regional cooperation and poverty reduction activities and improved management and effectiveness of ADB technical assistance funds, where applicable
