Proposed Project for Consideration

Establishing a Renewable Energy and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Investment Fund

Purpose

The objectives of the proposed small-scale TA are to
  1. identify existing and planned ADB programs and resources promoting renewable energy implementation that could be linked more effectively
  2. promote renewable energy implementation in DMCs by developing an investment/private equity fund concept that would invest in predominantly small and medium-sized clean energy projects, therefore enabling a greater number of projects that promote sustainable development to be financed
  3. assist DMCs by providing capital, project expertise, international and emerging market experience through investments directly into clean energy projects
  4. enable a public-private partnership

Estimated cost: $150,000

Status

  • The draft TA paper has been prepared and reviewed by the REACH Working Group and the Danish Government.
