RSDD's Structure

RSDD has established within its structure a mix of divisions and units which allows it flexibility in its operation and staffing. RSDD's different divisions and units cover the following areas:

  • Environment and Safeguards Division (RSES) supports the strategic focus and quality of ADB operations in the environment area and promotes compliance of ADB operations with Safeguard Policies.
  • Public Management, Governance, and Participation Division / NGO and Civil Society Center (RSGP/NGOC) supports the strategic focus and quality of ADB operations in governance; capacity development; emergency preparedness and response; financial due diligence; and aims to strengthen engagement of civil society.
  • Poverty Reduction, Gender, and Social Development Division (RSGS) supports the strategic focus and quality of ADB operations in social development; gender; education including e-learning and science and technology; and HIV/AIDS and communicable diseases.
  • Sustainable Infrastructure Division (RSID) supports the strategic focus and quality of ADB operations in the sectors of energy, transport, water, and urban development.
  • Knowledge Management Center (RSDD-KM) supports the knowledge management role of ADB and Information and Communication Technology in the region.
  • Agriculture, Rural Development, and Food Security Unit (RSDD-AR) leads the supervision of ADB's regional research program in the agriculture and natural resources sector and the periodic review of food security policies in developing Asia.
  • Climate Change Program Coordination Unit (RSDD-CC) oversees the implementation of ADB's climate change program, leads and coordinates the identification and development of new initiatives, and represents ADB in external dialogues and consultations on climate change matters.
