ONGOING EVALUTION. The evaluation will examine ADB’s governance policies and plans and appraisal of its governance operations over the past decade.  By evaluating ADB’s governance experience and drawing on lessons and evidence from the wider global experience, the evaluation will provide guidance to strengthen the effectiveness of ADB’s future work in this area. The evaluation findings will feed directly into the 2014 midterm review of Asian Development Fund XI.

ONGOING EVALUATION. This evaluation will assess the performance of ADB’s decentralization measures for quality service delivery and development effectiveness of ADB’s operations in its developing member countries. The evaluation will provide policy recommendations on decentralization measures moving forward for the effective implementation of the corporate Strategy 2020.

This Learning Curves provides an overview of the evaluation on ADB’s support to Afghanistan. It aims to provide an independent assessment of ADB support from 2002 to 2011, to identify areas for improving the effectiveness of ADB’s interventions, and to provide evaluation lessons and recommendations.

This edition of Learning Curves summarizes the evaluation that examines how ADB can become a stronger knowledge institution. As a key development player in the region, ADB could be at the forefront in specific knowledge areas and at the cutting edge in connecting knowledge with financing for better development results.
