Validates the completion report's assessment of the project designed to reduce the cost of road transport and improve access to markets in the Bishkek-Osh corridor. The project was also designed to support reforms to improve road maintenance and provide sustainable and adequate source of financing for road maintenance. IED overall assessment: Successful.

This report evaluates the performance of the Almaty-Bishkek Regional Road Rehabilitation Project aimed to improving transport efficiency by rehabilitating regional roads between Almaty in Kazakhstan and Bishkek in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Validates the completion report's assessment of the project designed to improve efficiency and safety of the road transport link between Almaty and Bishkek by rehabilitating the road infrastructure, modernizing border control policies, upgrading cross-border facilities, improving coordination and management of road safety, and introducing efficient road maintenance system. IED overall assessment: Successful.

This report covers five advisory technical assistance aimed at ensuring the absorptive capacity and ability of the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Mongolia to implement road projects. It also covers a regional technical assistance study to update road design and construction standards in these three countries.
