This report assesses ADB support for environment capacity development in South Asia, using selected technical assistance (TA) projects as case studies. It provides an insight into more effective capacity development from both environment and general TA. 

This issue of the Learning Curves summarizes the assessment of capacity development initiatives to selected sectors in Sri Lanka and provided some guidance on the design of future capacity development support.

This special evaluation study assessed the success and impact of past and ongoing capacity development activities, identified generic lessons from past experiences, and provided some guidance on the design of future capacity development support.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has provided 14 technical assistance (TA) grants to build evaluation capability in seven of its developing member countries (DMCs). For this report, six TAs implemented in Nepal, Philippines, and Sri Lanka were assessed, the ratings of which had mixed results.
