ONGOING EVALUATION. This approach paper presents the rationale, objectives, scope, and timeline for a study that will evaluate the impact of several interventions that ADB has supported in Bangladesh’s secondary education subsector.

The 2012 evaluation highlights some of the successes and shortcomings of disaster risk reduction in Asia and the Pacific, particularly through case studies in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Pakistan, and identifies areas for improvement.

This ongoing evaluation will assess the development outcome of selected road projects in Bangladesh, provide evidence of poverty impacts of road interventions, and fill in the knowledge gap. The study will (i) measure impacts that are attributed to the projects in achieving the intended impacts and outcomes; (ii) help improve ADB‟s operational effectiveness at the project level; and (iii) enhance the relevance of ADB corporate results framework. 

Has the donors’ approach to anti-corruption work been adapted to circumstances in the countries? What are the results of support for combating different types of corruption, including forms that affect poor people and women in particular? This evaluation provides insights for the debate, drawing on recent evidence from Bangladesh, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Viet Nam and Zambia.
